The Maress Decarb Summer Campaign 2024 has officially come to an end, and we are thrilled to announce the winners of this collaborative decarb initiative. Over the past few months, more than 300 vessels from 12 leading companies have joined forces to reduce CO2 emissions and enhance fuel efficiency. Despite a high activity level in the offshore sector, we see that the vessels operate efficiently and the total emission savings in the campaign period exceeded 7,000 tons of CO2.  

During the campaign the VPS Decarb team supported the participants with dashboards to track performance in addition to giving advice on which emission reducing initiatives to focus on. The crew did a great job implementing such measures whenever possible. Some of the measures that had a big impact were reducing the numbers of engines running, optimizing engine load, connecting to shore power and improved battery utilization. Additionally, many vessels collaborate closely with their charterers, which is key to efficient operations.

We would like to thank all participating companies for their dedication and transparency during the campaign. Sharing data and best practices is essential in driving progress and inspiring other companies. These four vessels had the biggest efficiency improvement this Summer, however, many vessels excelled during the campaign, and we appreciate the effort and contribution of every participating vessel – well done to you all!
