With our flagship Maress and PortStats apps, we provide data analytics and visualisation services used by the leading companies in the maritime industry to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable energy future. We call it data-driven decarbonisation.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The maritime industry is changing rapidly, and in this context, we see great interest in our software and data services to optimise bunker fuel procurement and reduce fleet emissions. We are experiencing rapid growth. To support this growth and to continue enhancing our products and services, we are looking for a QA Engineer/Software Tester to formalise and lead testing efforts, ensuring the highest quality of software products delivered to our customers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and maintain an extensive testing protocol for our software portfolio.
- Execute manual and automated testing procedures on different software levels (e.g. database, API, user interface), in cooperation with the development team.
- Identify, document and monitor software bugs and data quality issues and make sure that these are addressed in a timely manner. Manage and assign these issues through our service desk software.
- Collaborate with the development team to resolve issues, eliminate technical debt and reduce the dependence on legacy code. Contribute to improving software integrity, data quality and optimisation of app performance.
- Support the onboarding of new customers, APIs and other types of integration with external systems, vendors or customers.
- Ensure our software meets maritime sector-specific standards and compliance requirements where applicable.
- Conduct integration testing during each major software release cycle.
- Participate in our sprint meetings such as our sprint planning, stand-ups and sprint retrospectives.
- Develop and maintain an automated testing framework that can be applied across our software portfolio.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our testing processes and procedures, identify opportunities for automation and actively propose efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Document and report on testing results, quality metrics, and project status to relevant stakeholders.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field in Maritime or Software, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with both manual and automated software testing methodologies.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, including agile methodologies is required.
- Experience in the maritime industry or knowledge of maritime regulations, standards, or specific industry challenges is a strong advantage.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git
- Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating testing in DevOps workflows.
- Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), RESTful APIs, and database systems (e.g., SQL).
- Familiarity with performance testing tools is a plus.

The candidate should be eager to continuous develop their skills to stay updated on the latest best practices in testing.
